PA Power Library
The POWER Library is offered as a service of Pennsylvania’s public libraries, school libraries and the State Library. The POWER library allows you to access thousands of full text periodical articles, newspapers, a major encyclopedia, plus photographs, pictures, charts, maps, reference materials for young people and more. Newspaper Archive

Newspaper Archive is offered through the Federated Library System of Bedford County! Check out a range of Pennsylvania papers over the years. Click this link with your library card number to get started!

Story Time
Miss Becky brings books to life during her story time. Story time is for 3-to-5 year olds and is held every Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. The story time program runs from September to May. Pre-registration is NOT required.

Summer Reading
The Summer Reading program is a collaborative statewide summer reading program. Pre-registration IS required for this program.

eBooks
The Bedford County Library has 2 ebook services: CloudLibrary and Hoopla! Both can either be accessed online through the links or via an app downloaded from your app store.

Audio Books
Audio books are free to rent and have a 4 week rental period.

Magazine/Newspapers
The library subscribes to 25 magazines which may be checked for 4 weeks. We subscribe to 3 newspapers.

Inter-Library Loan
If we don’t have the book you’re looking for in our library ask about our Inter-library loan service. Fill out a request form for the book and we will borrow the book from another library and call you when we receive the material. Delivery time is a minimum of two weeks.

Internet Access
Internet access if a a free-of-charge service. The library has 7 computer stations. We also offer free WiFi connection to our patrons.

Fax/Copy Service
Fax service is available at the Library. To send or receive a fax there is a $1.00 fee per page plus tax. Copies may be made on the copier or computer printer for $.25 a page plus tax for black & white and $.50 for color prints.

Local History/Genealogy Questions
The Bedford County Library does not have a local history department. There is, however, an organization in the county that can help you.. The Pioneer Historical Society operates the Pioneer Historical Library. You can reach them several ways:
